Set of double ignition for 4 valve

Our scope of supply: Q-Tech
blackbox for the supply of the ignition coils, a second ignition coil,
a set of cables for the current supply of blackbox
and ignition coil, ignition cables and spark plug sockets, as well as four NGK
platinum spark plugs.
Not included is the removal and
intsllation of the cylinder heads, th edrilling of the
additional spark plug holes, the installation of the ignition system and the
according holder kit for ignition coil and blackbox.
Having an engine with such large single combustion chambers it is very difficult to be get a fast and balanced burning of the mixture. Having a catalytic convert in addition you will mostly have a pulsing at constent revs, which is a result of unbalanced burning.
An ignition of the mixture from two sides can prevent this effect and accelerate the burning. As very pleasant effect we receive cleaner exhaust gases, speaks a lower pollutant output. The engine runs clean, allows accelerating from low revs in a better way, and stops the pulsing at constant revs (called KFR in the Boxerforum).
We still have to test if it would be possible to use standard fuel for the lower compressed engines of the GS and R.

To make everything perfect we have take
our R 1100 GS with installed double ignition to the TUEV NORD, in Hanover for
an exhaust output measurement.
On a test
stand it was driven by a computer given cycle. The hereby produced exhaust gases were
caught in air bags and the composition was analyzed later and
measured.
As a result of
these measurements (the engine performance has still to be measured) the TUEV Hanover certified
our ignition.
Each in this way modifed 4 V boxer, in the house, at Q-Tech
or at a BMW dealer, can be registered into the Kfz documents.
A 4 V boxer with this ignition fulfills the exhust regulatins for
new motorcycles starting from 2003.
Last news:
The last hurdle, which is EMV examination (electromagnetic
compatibility) is settled. You will find the prices now
behind the part numbers.
Additionally there will
be the costs for the removal and installation cylinder heads. These costs differ from
model to model, please inquire therefore.
